Budokan is a longstanding member of
DAI NIPPON BUTOKU KAI (DNBK) in Kyoto Japan.
DNBK was established in 1895 under the authority of the Ministry of Education and sanction of the Emperor Meiji. Its purpose, at that time, was to standardize martial disciplines and systems throughout Japan. This was the first official martial arts organization sanctioned by the government of Japan. It promoted the martial virtues of samurai warriors and high historical proficiency in martial disciplines.

We are passionate about Traditional and Classical Japanese Budo.
It provides for everything we would need in Body, Mind and Spirit.
And we have spent a lot of time being devoted to it.
Now, we are brining it all together on one site for any Japanese Budo Dojo interested in sharing our passion with us.
We have a pretty impressive Lineage and are very proud of it.
We have created a growing Black Belt Register going back 60 years and we are very proud of that too.
The way we learn, train and practice Japanese Budo is changing massively, and we are already a part of that change with our existing Learning and Teaching Platform excitingly poised for future growth.
We have an interesting story to tell of the growth and spread of Budokan Dojo over the years.
Our dojo pages will be the heart and pulse of the site and will hold practical and technical information, news, events, gradings and so on about active Dojo and their Leaders, wherever they are and for all to share in.
We have built a Memorial page to show respect and remembrance for those Budo people we know who have passed away.
Fact-checking where our Karate came from helped us produce a valuable history of Karate and our place in it, with other Budo disciplines such as Aikido and Iaido in the pipeline.
And we have a great team with years of experience to get all of this responsibly managed for the benefit of all Japanese Budo people and friends.
Come and join us.
You will be made very welcome
